      Construction of the Wellington St. bridge in Bracebridge began in 1982 and was open for travel in 1984. Although this meant that the Segwun could no longer come into Bracebridge Bay, the bridge improved automobile traffic in the town.

      The village of Utterson, located about halfway between Bracebridge and Huntsville, was a busy place in the early 1900's. It had at least two hotels, three general stores and a busy railway station.
