      The photograph appears to have been taken at Bryants Studio in Winnipeg, Manitoba which was in operation between 1902 and 1911.

      The house was built about 1859 by James W. McCraney & wife Augusta [nee Leach.] It was their home until 1911. Photo dated 1905. In 2008, this house still stands as 425 Fourth Line, Oakville. James and Augusta McCraney are seated in the lower right corner of the photograph.

      Eldest child of James Kelley and Eliza Ribble, Susan was born on July 30th, 1849, and died January 21st, 1893. She married Captain Daniel Williams, a sailor, on June 26th, 1869. They had one child, James Edgar, who died of Cholera aged 1 year 5 months.

      Taken before Francis’ brother Hiram George Norton was born in September 1876. Elizabeth Wilkinson 1840-1918, Hiram Clark Norton 1846-1919 on the left, young Francis John Norton in the middle bottom 1868-1880 and unknown man on the right probably either Hiram or Elisabeth’s brother.

      Also included in this record as a "detail" are miniature photographs of John Norton, the father.

      May be a son or daughter of Robert Herbert Wilkinson and Louisa Ann Norton who lived in the Parry Sound area and had children there before moving to Alberta.

      This is the inside cover of the album. It looks like the album was a gift to Libbie Norton, possibly for her mariage on 6 Mar 1882. Whether the album was already filled with the photos or was empty and Libbie herself put the pictures in, we will never know. …
