      The fire hall at Brock and Colborne Streets was built between 1964 and 1965. It was officially opened on 26 May 1965 of Mayor Warren Mowat.

      The Dr. J.O. Ruddy Hospital opened in December 1969 and is located on the west side of Gordon St, midway between Victoria St. and Lake Ontario. It is now called Lakeridge Health Whitby.

      The Brock Street Public School was built in 1916 on the east side of Brock Street south of Victoria Street. Also known as the Bay School, it served Port Whitby until it closed in 1969. The building was demolished in 1998.
