      Wearing a light coloured, short-sleeved dress with embroidery, lacework or beading, with pince-nez spectacles and 'marcelled' hair, this portrait of Agnes Macphail was taken in Ottawa shortly after her election to Parliament in 1921.

      Wilfrid Laurier University is located in Waterloo, Ontario. It began in 1911 as the Evangelical Lutheran Seminary of Canada. In 1924 Waterloo College was established, providing courses in post-secondary education. In 1960 Waterloo College became Waterloo Lutheran University, and in 1973 changed its name to Wilfrid Laurier University.

      Condition: There are two copies of this photo and both are in poor condition. They are bend, curled, creased and overall are not safe to handle.
