      H. O. Boorse was an immigrant from Culpsville Pennsylania when he was twenty. He married Annie Cole, of South RIver, in 1885. H. O. was a clerk at the West End Supply Depot. H. O. moved his family to Alberta in 1906.

      Alexander Bow was born April 11, 1878 in Mara Township Ontario. He would later marry Ellen McKee. They would go on to parent nine children.

      The Cole homestead was located two miles west of South River. The home was built in 1901.

      Fred Detta was born October 15, 1894. William was born May 10, 1900. William is buried in Rye.

      This place was called the coal chute. It burned in the 1930's. The empty railroad cars stopped in front of the chutes and the coal was dropped in. The engine was got water while the coal was being loaded. The station was located near the railroad bridge.
