      Reverse: "This is where the carloads of fruit etc go. A carload is lost among 33 thousand men. It gets down to a grape per man. The grub is good and plenty.

      This is a copy from a mile to an inch ordinance map. Such practice routes were used every day for training.

      Reverse: This was the guard boat on the left front of the columns. Notice the guns peeping out of the side of the boat. We had the Talbot, Charyatid, DIana and Essex round us. The Sion and Glory the flanks.
