      The water tower on the east side of Euclid Street was built in 1904 and demolished in 1950.

      The Burnham residence was demolished in 1977. Frederick A. Cuddy built his home on the empty lot in 1935.

      This is a copy of an earlier photograph. In the original there was a cardboard frame. At the bottom is, likely, the name of the studio who took the picture.

      Ben and Anna McQuestion and son Victor. According to records, the McQuestion family was in the Upper Ottawa Valley as early as 1845.       The cannons were placed in front of the courthouse in 1902, they were from the Citadel in Halifax, Nova Scotia. In 1964 the cannons were moved to the new courthouse on Rossland Road. They were sent back to the Citadel in Halifax in 1989. The Ontario County Courthouse was built …

      H. O. Boorse was an immigrant from Culpsville Pennsylania when he was twenty. He married Annie Cole, of South RIver, in 1885. H. O. was a clerk at the West End Supply Depot. H. O. moved his family to Alberta in 1906.

      Alexander Bow was born April 11, 1878 in Mara Township Ontario. He would later marry Ellen McKee. They would go on to parent nine children.

      The Cole homestead was located two miles west of South River. The home was built in 1901.
