      This colourized photo shows Main Street Thessalon, circa 1907. It shows a variety of buildings and electric poles as well as horse drawn carriages and wagons. Notes indicate that the photo was taken from a postcard dated 1907.

      The Burtis Mill was built in 1903 on the west shore of Thessalon. Mr. E. B. Floss was the president and Manager. The Burtis mill did a lot of contract logging and sawing. Fire took the mill in the summer of 1912. The site of the original mill was where …

      On the back of the postcard are notes handwritten to Mr. St. John. The addressee is Rev. A. St. John. Notes also state that the "postcard was given to library 1990" and "Rev. St. John Methodist Minister 1905-08."
