      This land indenture grants Robert Fisher and James Merchant Fisher a small plot of land located near lot 7 in Paris. A later deed, transferring ownership from Robert to his brother James, is also a part of this collection and is linked to on the right.

      Joshua Bates gave land to men who worked in his mill. The land on which this house was built was given to Hiram Hawkins, who built this house about 1845. While James Gordon operated his woolen mill, he lived here. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Pearce purchased the home in 1945.
