      Centreton School was on the northeast corner of the junction of Centreton and MacDonald roads. It opened in 1857 and closed in 1966. When the school closed the students were transferred to Grafton Public School. The building was sold and is now a private home.

      This school was located on Concession 7, Lot 4, Haldimand Township. It opened in 1845 as a wooden frame schoolhouse, burned in 1878 and was rebuilt the same year with a brick building. It closed in 1947. In 1973 the building was vandalized and burned.

      W. Burnet founded his business in 1877 and emphasized china. He had two cellars with cement floors, lighted by gas and electricity and heated by steam, all quite a novelty at that time.
