      A carte de visite for Colina Kennedy, daughter of Malcolm Kennedy who built and resided at 55 Main Street North. She married James Prentice of Parry Sound in 1882 and died there suddenly in June 1885. One of her sisters is pictured in EHS24043.

      A carte de visite for either Maggie or Lizzie Kennedy, daughter of Malcolm Kennedy who built and resided at 55 Main Street North. Her sister’s portrait is EHS24042, Colina Kennedy. Lizzie married Bob Craine while Maggie remained unmarried to look after her mother.

      A carte de visite for Donald Kennedy, son of Malcolm Kennedy who built and resided at 55 Main Street North. He left Acton about 1875 and died of pneumonia in Cripple Creek, Colorado, USA, where he was buried in 1895.

      The very large class of Miss Minerva Howson (1857-1955) gathers outside the Ashgrove school house, built in 1870. She taught at Ashgrove from 1878 until 1880, when she married Samuel Ruddell.

      Manager and staff stand outside the Bank of Hamilton building at 115 Main Street South not long after it opened in 1875. It was the first chartered bank in Halton County.
