      A basement was put under the church in about 1925. When Hillcrest United Church was formed it was sold and moved to Limehouse where it is now a private residence.

      The barn at 11820 10 Sideroad at “Pine Haven Farms.” This barn was built for cattle but now is used to store apples by the McCarthy family. This barn was photographed in preparation for a sketch (see EHS25982) by artist Keith Strike (1931-1997) on a visit to Georgetown.

      The very large class of Miss Minerva Howson (1857-1955) gathers outside the Ashgrove school house, built in 1870. She taught at Ashgrove from 1878 until 1880, when she married Samuel Ruddell.
