      The Brock Street Public School was built in 1916 on the east side of Brock Street south of Victoria Street. Also known as the Bay School, it served Port Whitby until it closed in 1969. The building was demolished in 1998.

      Myrtle Public School was located on the south side of Myrtle Road (Concession 9), west of Highway 12. It was built in 1880, closed in 1965, and demolished in 1978.

      In 1926 the Whitby Fire Department purchased two fire trucks, a Gotfredson Pumper and a Chevrolet Chemical. They replaced the Merryweather Steam Fire Engine. The location of this photograph is unknown.

      The Jabez Lynde family home was located at the north-west corner of Dundas Street West and MQuay Blvd. A commemorative stone was unveiled by the Whitby Mayor John W. Bateman. George S. Henry, Ontario Minister of Public Works, was also present. Sylvester B. Lynde was the chairman for the reunion.

      James and Annie Nicholson were married at Belfast, Ireland in February 1876 and settled at Whitby shortly thereafter, around 1876. They had nine children. James Nicholson and Cephas Seldon were town undertakers who also operated a furniture store called Nicholson & Seldon.
