      The display, in Victoria Park, features the book by Society member Ken Lamb "Milton Remembers World War II".

      Victoria Park Gun - German 77 mm field gun, captured September 27, 1918 by the Third Infantry Battalion of Toronto, allotted to Milton as a souvenir of World War I by A. G. Doughty, Dominion Archivist. Milton is indebted to Dr. R. K. Anderson, M.P. for the field gun.

      Elinor Brown is the sister of Flight Sergeant Charles Peter McLaren who was killed when his plane crashed in Myanmar (Burma) in June 1945. The wreckage was discovered by a hunter in 1990. In 1997, Elinor Brown travelled to Rangoon with relatives of the other airmen on the downed plane …

      The monument, supplied by the Thomson Monument Co. of Toronto, was purchased by public subscription and erected during 1926. The unveiling was held on Sunday, September 5, 1926 at 3 p.m. The monumnent was unveiled by Col. Henry Cockshutt, Lieut. Governor of Ontario.
