      As seen in this photo, fun and recreation were important to the residents and employees of the mill town of Terrace Bay, Ontario. Shown here are gentlemen curling in South Camp, Terrace Bay, Ontario.

      The people in this photo are probably taking a break from their labour at the Empress Mines. In 1898, Empress Mines were 10 km to the east of Terrace Bay. Empress Mine operated between 1895-1900 and was known to have some high grade gold bearing quartz.
