      Typed notes affixed to this photo read: "This picture was taken in 1911 showing the footings of the Church of Redeemer (Anglican). The Catholic Church to the far right is St. Francis Xavier."

      At the bottom of the photo: "St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church opened December 17, 1893. It was replaced and moved to Nestorville after the new church was built 1909. It was moved during the winter and pulled by horses to its new location in Nestorville."

      A notation accompanying this photo states that the following people are pictured left to right in the photo: Jack Feltham, Bob Feltham, Jack McCrea, Rosalee McCrea, John McLennan, Dean Allen, Ray Elliott.       This church replaced the previous Church that was erected in 1936 but was destroyed by fire. A Catholic cemetery used to be located on the site where the Church is located, it was relocated prior to the second Church being built.

      The Methodist church building was constructed in 1900. It is believed that the building was constructed of locally made bricks from a factory north of Thessalon on Highway 129. The building has also served as a community hall, office building, gym, public school, and art society. This structure was used …

      This Alter was removed when Father Panicka was the priest here along with the Assam brothers. There is are no remnants of it left, this would have been in the 1980's.

      This building opened January 25, 1957, as the Assembly of the Brethren. The Thessalon Bible Chapel is currently in a new building, located at 11 Huron St. West.
