      A 1926 atlas containing an index of the Dominion of Canada with the 1921 Census, New Maps of the World, Gazetteer Index of the World, Descriptive Gazetteer of the Principal Countries of the World and Physical and Economic Maps of the World.

      This is a ledger book from St. George, Ont. It contains farm plans, financial records, receipts, and extracts from court records. The original book is held by the South Dumfries Historical Society.

      The Brock Street Public School was built in 1916 on the east side of Brock Street south of Victoria Street. Also known as the Bay School, it served Port Whitby until it closed in 1969. The building was demolished in 1998.

      Myrtle Public School was located on the south side of Myrtle Road (Concession 9), west of Highway 12. It was built in 1880, closed in 1965, and demolished in 1978.

      In 1926 the Whitby Fire Department purchased two fire trucks, a Gotfredson Pumper and a Chevrolet Chemical. They replaced the Merryweather Steam Fire Engine. The location of this photograph is unknown.

      The Jabez Lynde family home was located at the north-west corner of Dundas Street West and MQuay Blvd. A commemorative stone was unveiled by the Whitby Mayor John W. Bateman. George S. Henry, Ontario Minister of Public Works, was also present. Sylvester B. Lynde was the chairman for the reunion.
