      The picture was taken at the bottom of the hill down the Wilson back lane, Sheridan, in the early 1930's by Dr. George Hardy. The Wilson family farm was on the west side of the present-day Winston Churchill Blvd., Mississauga, Ontario.

      The Trafalgar Township Historical Society Winter Newsletter 2009 shows a postcard addressed to Mrs. Dixon as an example of the post card collection of Mr. David Hobden. As was customary for the time, she is addressed with the initials of her husband.

      The linked website http://www.leighlarson.com/james_gilby_jr.htm cites 1863 as John Gilby's date of death. Lois Rose spells "Alisemon" as "Alisimon" in her notes to the pictures but spelling on a photograph of "Alise" and internet research on the family show that it is properly "Alisemon".
