      The Vorvis Trophy was annually presented to a person who has consistently contributed to sports in Whitby. Harry Vorvis, the trophy's creator, was the owner of Maple Leaf Billiards. He first presented the trophy in 1948.

      The Samuel Trees residence was built for lawyer George Young Smith in 1877 and sold to Samuel Trees in 1912. The house was demolished in August 1958 to built Whitby's new municipal building.

      The Dr. J.O. Ruddy Hospital opened in December 1969 and is located on the west side of Gordon St, midway between Victoria St. and Lake Ontario. It is now called Lakeridge Health Whitby.

      This gas station was built in the spring of 1958 to replace a British American Oil Company service station that was built in 1928. The new gas station was demolished in 1992. Cecil Jordison and Ivan Hicks were the owners in 1958.
