      George Weir returned from World War I in 1919 to take over the family farm. He married Alice Ingram. This photo can be found in the Tweedsmuir History created by the Princess Elizabeth Women's Institute.

      Notes indicate that the photo was taken in 1914 and that James Cole was killed in the First World War between 1914 and 1918. He was buried in France. Notes also show that Minnie Martineau married Stewart King, and Annabelle Cole later became Annabelle Pinder.

      The Goldring store was operated by the Goldring family from 1911 until it was demolished in 1967. It was located at 1506 Brock Street South, Port Whitby.

      The National Hotel was located at the north-east corner of Brock and Water Streets, opposite the slip at the harbour. It was built before 1857 and closed in the 1880s. The hotel was demolished sometime after 1920.

      Inverlynn house was built in 1860 for William Laing at 1300 Gifford Street. In 1870, Inverlynn was purchased by George McGillivray. Since 1870, the house has belonged to descendants of the McGillivray family.
