      Notes on the back of this photo read, "Donated by Orville Beadle, Lizzie Kirby. Born 08/June 1866, is wife of Henry Kirby sawyer, 1901 census." This is the only photograph with W. W. Bennett - Photographer marked on it. He was the first photographer in Thessalon, circa 1880.

      This is a colourized photo of the west side of Thessalon's Main Street. The street is still dirt and boardwalks can be along the left side. There are various groups of people, sitting and standing along the street. A horse-drawn wagon can be seen on the right.

      A note at the bottom of the photo reads: "Shaw's Planing Mill - 1890. It was located where Home Hardware is located in 1989 Left side of Main Street at Dobie Street."

      Notes affixed to this photo read: "First Presbyterian Church built in Thessalon - officially opened December 1883, named Zion on the Hill."
