      The building, on the corner of Main Street East and Commercial Street has been in the hotel business since it was built. It has had many different names.

      The building is situated on the corner of Main and Commercial Streets. It is now (2013) caled Brydens. This photograph was taken from the book "Milton's Semi-Centennial 1857-1907".

      On Main Street. The left-hand section of the building is now a series of small shops and apartments and the middle section (known as the Thompson hotel) is now a restaurant and apartments.       The building was demolished. It was located on Main Street in approximately the position now occupied by Carriage Square. Three copies of photograph.

      The building was at 244 Main Street East. The Metropolitan Bank was taken over by the Bank of Nova Scotia. The building was eventually demolished and replaced with the new Bank of Nova Scotia Building. Three copies of photograph.

      The building served as the town hall until 1985 at which time town administration was moved to the renovated Court House/Jail building in Victoria Square. This building now houses offices.       The original Mayfair Lunch restaurant was severely damaged by fire in 1961. At the time this photograph was taken the store was in the process of reopening.
