      This photograph shows the hosiery knitting room at the Penmans Limited clothing company's #1 mill in Paris, c. 1935. The foreman of the room depicted was Vern Madden; it was located on the second floor of the #1 mill.

      While the company's official name at this time was "Penmans Limited", there were inconsistencies in the spelling; "Penman", "Penmans" and "Penman's" were all used interchangeably, though "Penmans" was most common. Signs in this photo use both "Penmans" and "Penman's".

      This 1927 advertising display shows the goods of the Penmans and Watson's clothing companies. According to the back of the photo, the display was in London. The signs in the bottom reads: London Show Room Room 19 Ashplant Bldg. Carling St. [illegible] C.B. LAUR [illegible] 2260
