      This is a collection of over 1,000 photographs of daily life in Richmond Hill from 1860. Drawn from the library's local history photographic collection, it has been assembled from donated family photos provided by local residents, as well as from images from the Liberal newspaper archives.

      This electronic version of the popular book by Robert M. Stamp has been designed to make finding information about Richmond Hill's rich history and past citizens easy and convenient for students, genealogists, and local history enthusiasts.

      A collection of photographs, tintypes, booklets, autograph books belonged to the Lynett family of Richmond Hill.

      Tweedsmuir Histories were perhaps the first “organized”, although amateur approach to recording local history. The idea was articulated by Susan Buchan, Baroness Tweedsmuir, who was the wife of John Buchan, Baron Tweedsmuir, and Governor General of Canada in 1935-1940.       This collection was donated to the Richmond Hill Public Library by the Hall family, long time residents of Richmond Hill. It consists mostly of family photographs, but also includes photographic postcards, tintypes, and certificate of confirmation.
