      The Brock Street Public School was built in 1916 on the east side of Brock Street south of Victoria Street. Also known as the Bay School, it served Port Whitby until it closed in 1969. The building was demolished in 1998.

      This frame building was built on the south side of Watson street between Brock and Dufferin Streets in the early 1900s. It served as the fire hall for Port Whitby until 1958, after which it was used by Boy Scouts.

 Unknown, Daily Times-Gazette (Whitby, ON), 25 May 1958     This frame building was built on the south side of Watson street between Brock and Dufferin Streets in the early 1900s. It served as the fire hall for Port Whitby until 1958, after which it was used by Boy Scouts and Sea Scouts.

      The Port Whitby lighthouse was built in 1857 and was located on the west pier. It was removed in September 1958.

      This building was originally the Whitby Collegiate Institute. It was located on the south side of Colborne Street between Centre and King Streets. The school was built in 1873, remodeled in 1915, and demolished in 1975-76. The building served as the Collegiate Institute from 1880-1911 and as Whitby High School …

      From 1950-1959, the Whitby detachment of the OPP was located at 306 Gilbert Street West in an old house on the north side between Centre and King Streets. The detachment moved to its new headquarters at Henry Street and Highway 401 in 1959.
