      The 15th edition of the Directory for the City of Woodstock Ontario includes a miscellaneous directory, a classified business directory, an alphabetical directory with name and address and a street directory.

 Marjorie G. Ruddy, Whitby Gazette and Chronicle (1912), 10 April 1940     The photograph was taken in Taylor Arena which was located on the east side of Brock between Gilbert and Ontario Streets.

      In 1927 the Whitby Bowling and Tennis Club was formed and acquired the property bounded by Brock, Burns, Green, and Pitt Streets. A clubhouse was built on the site in 1931. The property was eventually acquired by the Rotary Club in 1943 and sold to Ontario Housing Corporation in 1973 …
