      The owner was Albert F. Cox. 88 King Street West was located on the north side of King between Centre and McMillan Drive (once called Mechanic Street).

      Located at the corner of Victoria Street and King Street East, the Regent Theatre was originally erected in 1919, and staged both theatre acts and films. It eventually fell into disrepair, and a renewal project was finally realized as construction began in 2008.

      Henry Edmund Morphy was a prominent lawyer in the Oshawa region. Born in 1853, he married Miriam Pellatt in 1880, and they had four children: John Apsley (he died the same year of his birth), Emily-Irene, Miriam, and John Aubrey.

      Thomas Berton Mitchell as a druggist and optician, operating his shop at 11 Simcoe Street North. In addition to mayor, he served the town as a member of council, reeve of the town and president of the Board of Trade.

      To deal with unsatisfactory health conditions in the town, sixty women from various churches established the Hospital Auxiliary in 1907 to raise funds for the building of a hospital.       This building was originally the home of John Kerr on the east bank of the Oshawa Creek and was later was moved further east and became the home of J. B. Warren. It was later the home of William Hare. It was demolished in 1957.
