      Whitby's first water tower stood on the east side of Euclid Street north of Dundas Street from 1904-1947 when replaced with another water tower located at Kinsmen Park. The old water tower was demolished in 1950.

      The Heard family operated Heard's Taxi and Cartage for three generations, from 1910-1978. Originally owned by Richard Heard, the taxi company was sold to Lorne Caskey in 1978. Heard's office was located at 124 Brock Street North.
