      Ontario No. 1 cost about $375,000, was 317 feet long, 54.2 foot beam, 16 1/2 foot draft, speed 13-15mph, capacity of 28 loaded coal cars, 1,000 passengers, berths for 90 people.

      The Columbian had two annexes, Lake View Lawn and the Baltimore. On Lake View Lawn were two first-class cottages containing, in both cottages about thirty rooms. The Baltimore was near the lake and had about twenty-five excellent sleeping rooms. It was established in 1893 and demolished in 1994.

      Among other things, Samuel was a poet and underwriter from Cobourg.

      Mr. J. Edward Fisher, originally from London, England, was a concert accompanist, teacher of piano, organ and singing and had his studio in Hooey's Block, South King Street. He was also the organist and choirmaster of the Methodist Church.
