      The Bank of Toronto came to Cobourg in the early 1850s.

      This church was located on King St. West, between Spring and Durham St. south side. For three years after 1925 (union forming United) it was known as King Street United Church, but closed its doors in 1928.

      The Columbian had two annexes, Lake View Lawn and the Baltimore. On Lake View Lawn were two first-class cottages containing, in both cottages about thirty rooms. The Baltimore was near the lake and had about twenty-five excellent sleeping rooms. It was established in 1893 and demolished in 1994.

      Among other things, Samuel was a poet and underwriter from Cobourg.

      Mr. J. Edward Fisher, originally from London, England, was a concert accompanist, teacher of piano, organ and singing and had his studio in Hooey's Block, South King Street. He was also the organist and choirmaster of the Methodist Church.
