      This school was located on Concession 7, Lot 4, Haldimand Township. It opened in 1845 as a wooden frame schoolhouse, burned in 1878 and was rebuilt the same year with a brick building. It closed in 1947. In 1973 the building was vandalized and burned.

      Foster Meharry Russell was a newspaper publisher from 1938 to 1969 and the founder of Cobourg-Port Hope Radio Station CHUC in 1957. His father Levi Charles Russell, managed the Millbrook Reporter in the early 1900s.
