      Mary Grant Wallace was a daughter of James Wallace. James Wallace was the mayor of Whitby in 1856. Mary Wallace dies at Ravenswood, Illinois, U.S.A. on May 15, 1889. This photograph was taken during the period when her father was working as an emigration agent in England.

      This is a digitized copy of the original photograph. According to Norton family lore, Francis Wilkinson sold 100 acres of land in Toronto, where the original Eaton's store later stood, in exchange for a pony. He also sold 200 acres of land in Goderich for a team of oxen.

      Francis John Norton, 1868-1880, son of Hiram Clark and Elizabeth (Wilkinson) Norton. Frances died of typhoid fever at the age of 12. His brother was Andrew George Hiram Norton, b. September 9, 1876 d. August 18, 1947 in Halton Co.
