      What could have been a very boring street corner turns out to be a very dramatic and beautiful sight. Thank you to all the home owners who go over and beyond to landscape and make Oakville a beautiful town to wander around and enable everyone to enjoy the view.

      Fred Heeks and his family moved into the house in the fall of 1909. The 3-story, red brick house was built by Mr. Heeks himself. It once stood on a farm that extended from Rebecca St. to Old Lakeshore Rd. in the south.

      The identification on each lot is the Concession number in Roman numeral followed by lot number. E.g. "I-35" is Concession 1, Lot 35. "II-30" is Concession 2, Lot 30.

      This photo was taken in the lobby of the Oakville & Milton Humane Society. Our caring staff members Mike, Jeanine, Kristen and Marko are showing off just a few of the wonderful cats currently available for adoption.

      Built by sisters and Hazel and Juliet, great granddaughters of William Chisholm. Each home consisted of a pantry, kitchen, sitting room, bedroom and bathroom. Used as rental apartments after the sisters’ deaths, they are now the offices of the Oakville Historical Society founded by Hazel Chisholm Mathews.
