      The Olympic Torch relay for the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games visited over 1,000 communities across Canada, and Oakville was lucky to be one of them. The torch relay began in East Oakville, following Lakeshore Road, and ending up on Dorval, where this picture was taken.

      The Bank of Montreal sponsor truck that led the torch through Oakville. The signs on the truck read "Make some noise Canada!"

      The Queen Elizabeth Way bridge over Sixteen Mile Creek was built in 1939 and bears resemblance to those over Credit River and Bronte Creek. The construction of an additional bridge to accomodate higher traffic volume resulted in the disappearance of this particular view.
