      Joseph Patrick Bandel was the son of Louis S. Bandel. Joseph managed the Whitby House hotel for a year after the death of his father.

      Nicholson & Seldon furniture was located at 121 Brock Street South in the seventh store south of the Dominion Bank on the east side of Brock Street. James Nicholson and Cephas Seldon operated this furniture store from 1904 to 1936 as well as an undertaking business.

      Quinton Shoe Store was located at 225 Brock Street South. The building was constructed in the 1850s on the east side of Brock Street north of Dunlop Street and was demolished in 1961. It was occupied by Robert Henry Quinton (1868-1958) from 1906 to 1958.

      Thomas McCann Grocery Store was located at 227 Brock Street South. This frame building was constructed in the 1850s on the east side of Brock Street, north of Dunlop Street. It stood south of Quinton’s shoe store. It was demolished in 1977.
