      The Fountain and Hose Company was one of the Cobourg Fire Departments. This photograph was taken in Victoria Hall before 1890.

      Victoria College, which began as the Upper Canda Academy officially opened in 1836. It became a degree-granting institution in 1842 with Egerton Ryerson as its first principal.       Margaret was the daughter of A. J. Donly, owner and editor of "The Simcoe Reformer" and Registrar of Norfolk County and his wife Maria. Naula married Walter N. Bell in 1894 and died five years later on the birth of her third child, a son.

      William Tourje was a hardware merchant and tinsmith. His shop was on King Street in Cobourg. He was born on May 22, 1813 and died July 26, 1886. He is buried in Hull's Corner Cemetery.
